Employee and Physician Engagement Surveys were conducted at Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre from October 24th to November 30th, 2018 using Metrics@Work, a provider of organizational measurement and consulting. The results revealed that Hotel Dieu Shaver scored above average for 25 out of 25 healthcare comparators (25 organizations and 30,000 survey respondents).
The survey results revealed that Hotel Dieu Shaver exceeded the highest score obtained within the Hospital sector for staff safety and employee involvement. The top five most important drivers according to Hotel Dieu Shaver employees and physicians - “Treated with Respect”, “Respectful and Supportive Workplace”, “Workload”, “Communication in Your Team”, “Impact of Job on Personal Life” - has increased in satisfaction compared to the previous survey conducted in 2016. Overall, 20 drivers improved from the previous survey conclusions. The survey results indicate an overall satisfaction score of 72.4% which is a 5.7% increase from Hotel Dieu Shaver's 2016 survey and is 10.2% higher than the Metrics@Work Hospital sector database.

The Metrics@Work analyst congratulated Hotel Dieu Shaver for setting Best Practice standards for employee engagement in healthcare services. Employee and Physician surveys are conducted on a regular basis to identify strengths and areas of improvement within the organization and as part the Accreditation process.
