On May 15, 2024, Hotel Dieu Shaver came together for Canada Health Day in a celebration of our staff, physicians, patient advisors and volunteers who offer exceptional dedication to our patients.
Canada Health Day commemorates the May 12th birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, who is known for her commitment to the improvement of the health and welfare of all people.
The celebration, led by a mass presided over by Bishop Gerard Bergie, featured a cherished HDS annual tradition: all attendees were welcome to bring forward a symbol that represented the great work they do across the hospital every day, and to present their symbols to the Bishop during the offertory of the mass.
We thank our staff, physicians, patient advisors and volunteers for truly living the mission and values of the hospital.
