Position: Manager of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services and Specialty Clinics
Position Type: Regular Full-Time


Position Objective:

In alignment with the Mission and Values of Hotel Dieu Shaver, we are seeking a dynamic Manager of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services and Specialty Clinics, who excels in engaging people, building successful teams, planning and decision-making and who thrives on promoting a high-quality practice environment that encourages innovation, professional judgment and fosters high morale. Our ideal candidate combines expert clinical knowledge with sound administrative skills and a passion for growth and progressive strategic development.

In this role, you will be accountable for the patient experience, providing constant best-practice initiatives, innovation, leadership, clinical program development, the provision of high-quality care, fiscal stewardship, and the day-to-day management of interprofessional clinical service departments.

The successful candidate will:

  • Utilize interpersonal and conflict resolution skills effectively to develop strong working relations with all team members, and to effectively communicate to community members when addressing concerns and answering questions
  • Have excellent judgement and attention to detail with a high regard for confidentiality
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with front line team members regarding facility and program information
  • Work collaboratively to help facilitate any new hospital initiatives, including the implementation of the new Hospital Information System through in person and electronic communication
  • Lead and participate in various committees, both internally as an HDS staff leader and regionally as a community partner
  • Participate in budget reviews and decision making
  • Program planning
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the appropriate union collective agreements through staff planning and management
  • Work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Our ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related allied healthcare professional field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Hold current registration with the RHPA relevant regulatory body and membership in applicable professional association
  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation related field
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical leadership role within a unionized healthcare system
  • Completion of formal education in healthcare administration or management or working towards the completion of formal education/training in healthcare administration or management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of quality improvement, program development and evaluation
  • Sound analytical skills including; conceptualizing, developing and executing a wide variety of projects
  • Working knowledge of Legislation impacting clinical and labour practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interprofessional team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
  • Must have good attendance and work record
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
