Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre will be able to continue to purchase much needed patient-care equipment and upgrade treatment areas thanks to the largest donation in history to the hospital of $816,694.28 from the healthcare facility’s Foundation.

Volunteer Spotlight - Ron Gilbert - Nevada Booth

On March 1, 2016, Ron started volunteering with Hotel Dieu Shaver’s Auxiliary. Currently he volunteers in the Nevada booth every Tuesday, but will be training in the Dieu Drop-in Café & Bistro shortly. Ron wanted to volunteer at Hotel Dieu Shaver to give back to the hospital and give thanks for everything that was done for his wife.

Lisette walks through the hallways of Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Every few steps, nurses, therapist and porters stop to say hello. She greets each and every one of them with a hug. “I don’t remember all their names, but I remember their smiling faces,” she says. She’s knitted a couple of winter toques and gave them to the therapists. A small gift perhaps, but all she can give to show her gratitude.
